An attractive perennial with grey-green stems and leaves covered with hairs; giving it a cottony appearance. Flowers are pure white, roundish and grow in dense clusters. The flowers are actually bracts surrounding a yellowish disk. Rhizomatous; often found growing in bushy clusters.

Bees and butterflies are attracted to this plant. Food source for painted lady butterflies.
Makes an excellent dried flower.
