characteristics

This rare, delicate short-lived perennial has silvery, grey-green foliage with pale purple flowers. Leaves are silky and lanceolate to oblong. Tends to form clumps and reseeds readily. Drought tolerant.

Western silvery aster is considered to be threatened, in the Province of Manitoba, due to habitat loss and herbicide use.
