characteristics
Thick stemmed with broad yellow-green leaves. Stems are flattened at emergence. Long, open branched purplish panicles nod delicately on the plants' top. A rapid growing grass; spreads by both rhizomes and stolons. Doesn't like to be burned.
Starts from seed.
Cyanogenic; this plant may be toxic to livestock.
