characteristics

Upright slender, round stems with small bladeless sheaths in lieu of leaves. A solitary oval spikelet with pointed tip blooms with white to yellow flowers. A tiny, oval brown to straw coloured fruit is produced. Rhizomatous; spreads readily.

Also known as creeping spike-rush and marsh spike-rush.
